Tips & Tricks
Put on all the numbers to start – write in pencil what month it is on top then add all the numbered days. Double check your calendar before you start! This can take a bit, so put in a movie to pass the time.
You can make all the headers at once or as you go. I prefer to make them as I go so I can pull out a collection that represented the month to me. I love saving all my tiny scraps, and these layouts are the perfect place to use them! As you use up a header color for a month, make a note on your cover sheet. You can also make notes here if you have inspiration for a future month that you want to remember.
Thin strips and partial borders pair well with a large embellishment, all layered with some small icons and of course the month title.

Most of the calendar blocks are 1-3/4″ squares, so the Square Punch is perfect to fill in those empty days. The blocks on the edge are slightly thinner, so the square would need to be trimmed. Most of our Creative Memories shape punches are slightly smaller than 1-3/4″ square so they sit nicely on those squares!

You can measure and cut a long strip to fill in the empty days. A partial border or larger embellishment adds a nice focal point to the layout.

Play with using different colored pens and different pen tips to add interest and highlight certain events. The Banner Border Maker Cartridge punches out the perfect tag to fit on the squares. If you mess up, just cut a piece of paper to cover it up and write again!
