Get Some Happy!

Happiness.

Not for another place but this place.

Not for another hour but this hour.

Walt Whitman

Don’t we all love a little good self pity? Life is rough, and we all have challenges. It’s easy to get sucked down into the depression of life, especially in the winter! But that’s no way to live. Who wants to be down dark all the time? A year ago, after I lost my job of 20 years, I decided I couldn’t live down there. So I try intentionally to find the positive- find the gratitude- appreciate the blessings. I’m not always great at this, but I try.

I’m a slow adopter of new things in the scrapbook world. When the Happy Album kits were introduced, I was dismissive because keeping up with my current projects was overwhelming enough, without ‘new Happy Album projects’. And when I looked at the kits on the screen, I was like “meh, well they ARE cute, I guess”. But I’ve learned to never judge a paper pack by its computer screen view, so I ordered all of them. They are super cute- all in one kits- ready to make a 12×12 page, no Happy Album needed.

Many of the kits have a blue-green tone, so they paired wonderfully with Creative Memories Dark Sea Green cardstock.

Just add 12×12 cardstock and repositionable tape. You don’t even need any tools! Let’s take a look.

There are many ways to arrange- experiment with layering.

This kit has several journal boxes that can be also used as photo mats or title bars.
Happy Album Kit #11

Often, when I don’t like a print or a kit, I choose it to play with first. Everything looks better in coordination. So I chose Kit #11 because I wasn’t fond of that animal print…but the layered embellishments were gorgeous.

The gold foil doesn’t photograph well, but both of these papers are shiny.

Those are just 3 of the 20+ kits that have been released for the Happy Album. Sadly, yesterday as I was prepping this post, they announced that they will not be releasing monthly kits in 2020. So what’s out is out, be sure to order at least one of each today before they’re gone!
