A few years ago, this simple technique was featured on my blog. I’ve dusted it off and added a handout download.
Two sheets of paper and an Edge-Style Border Punch is all you really need. Having the 12″ Trimmer w/ the Scoring Blade makes the folding easier but is not required.
Keep scrolling to find my video link, handout download, and several alternative layouts.

Genuine Collection with the Majestic Mountains Border Punch

Above the Birds & Blossoms Collection was used with the Spring Leaves Border Punch.
Below the Woven Scallops Border Maker Cartridge is also paired with Birds & Blossoms Paper and Blue Cardstock.

Shadow Border Directions:
An Edge-Style Border Punch punches a design that stays connected to the paper. It leaves an edge design.
- Punch both ends of a double-sided paper with an edge-style border punch or BMC.
- Use the 12″ Trimmer w/ Scoring Blade to score 1-1/4″ from one end of the paper. Fold up along the score.
- Adhere the punched paper in the center of the base paper. Shift it up or down if you want open space at the top or bottom.
Pro Tip: Adjust the scoring measurement as needed for smaller or larger punched designs.

Embellishing: The space above or beneath the folded paper can be used for titles or embellishments.
To Create the Floral Border Shown:
- Punch two colors of cardstock with the Fresh Flower Punch. Lily Pad and Baby Blue Cardstock are shown.
- Tuck one color up under the fold. Adhere the other color on top.
- Alternate colors of the center circle and adhere with Precision Point Adhesive.
- The Circle Punch can mat an additional flower to create a cluster in the upper corner. Punch foliage with the Leaf Trio Punch or similar to tuck behind.
