Sunshine & Rainbows for Homecoming

For 2019 Homecoming, my daughter went with a group of friends. Their dresses were a rainbow of bold jewel colors. I took so many photos! When I have a lot of pics from one event, I love to find a Creative Memories Fast2Fab page option to make scrapbooking simpler. Fast2Fab pages are pre-designed, just add pictures, embellishments, and journaling if desired. Creative Memories had just introduced the Rainbow Rush collection- I knew that would be perfect. My dilemma was that there wasn’t a Fast2Fab refill set for the Rainbow Rush collection. Simply Sunshine had some great yellow and green tones, but it had pink in it which I really didn’t care for. I debated the Harvest Delight set also, but I really wanted those Rainbow Rush Bold colors. I finally settled on using the Simply Sunshine Fast2Fab page refill set with Rainbow Rush paper and embellishments to create a customized look.

The title page introduced the Rainbow Rush print and purple tones I carried heavily throughout the pages. I always do the title page last- so these pieces of paper were actually leftovers from making mats. I trimmed them to be the same width and stacked.
Had to cover the pink flowers using Rainbow Rush Flower Embellishments!
Rainbow has four different embellishment packs: Laser, Layered Border, Layered Title, Flowers. I used some from all of them in this book.
Paper from Rainbow Rush Bold…Simply Sunshine mat for journaling.
  • Rainbow Rush Bold print cut with wavy blade in the 12″ trimmer.
  • Rainbow Rush Laser Embellishment with Rainbow Rush Layered Title and Simply Sunshine leaf embellishments.
Pretty simple layout- only added mats for photos, mat for journaling, Simply Said embellishment, and Rainbow Rush Layered Title embellishment.
This Simply Sunshine mat was trimmed down with the scallop blade in the 12″ trimmer to make it more appropriately sized for the space.
The purple strips cut with wavy decorative blade in the 12″ trimmer add a great contrast to the yellow and coordinated with the girls’ dresses.
Accented with Rainbow Rush flowers and Simply Sunshine embellishment.
Love the simplicity of this layout.
The focus is on the girls (sorry you can’t see their beautiful faces!)
  • Had to cover the pink flowers!
  • Rainbow print matted on purple.
These Rainbow Rush Layered Titles really are some kind of wonderful!

I used the Decorative Lattice border punch to add dimension. It’s no longer available but our current Basketweave or Scallop would offer a similar effect. Butterflies from Simply Sunshine embellishments and of course, another Rainbow Rush Layered Title.
ABC letters are old CM- white swirly monograms.
Picking one border punch and varying the colors/papers used carry a consistent theme throughout the book. I chose the dark purple to complement her friend’s purple dress.

  • Don’t underestimate the value of a thin strip border. Butterfly mat is from Simply Sunshine Variety Mats.
  • A peek of how the page came and where I added accent paper.
On another layout, I covered the pink with wavy cut Rainbow Rush print and a strip of purple as an edging. Repositionable tape allows you to pull up and straighten if you don’t get it right the first time.
Beautiful floral border from Rainbow Rush Layered Border Embellishments.
  • Purple Rainbow Rush Laser Embellishment with Rainbow Rush Layered Title and Simply Sunshine leaf embellishments.
  • Rainbow Rush Bold print cut with wavy blade
The last page was one of my favorites! The printed pages came with this beautiful wreath. I covered up the pink flowers with Rainbow Rush Flower Embellishments. The blue flowers form a triangle for the eye and help focus on the picture. I asked the girls to line up in rainbow order- so pretty!
  • Gorgeous Rainbow Rush Layered Title Embellishment. Notice the 3 mat layers-white can be a great way to pop a special photo against the background.
  • The flower embellishments add 3-D effect. Cluster embellishments in groups of 3 for eye appeal.
